L'album présente le premier nouveau matériel du groupe en 20 ans et ne manquera pas de les réintégrer comme l'un des groupes les plus influents de tous les temps.
Le morceau d'ouverture de l'album et teaser "Everything You Know Is Wrong - Intro" voit le groupe se lancer dans une déclaration d'intention et le retour de l'esprit lyrique de Shaun Ryder, qui cette fois le voit viser avec acharnement Donald Trump. Le prochain album est un témoignage du commentaire social et politique régnant de Ryder.
Comme Irvine Welsh l'écrit dans la biographie du groupe, je suis ravi d'annoncer que Black Grape est de retour sur la route, et avec le nouvel album Pop Voodoo qui fait vraiment sortir le f ** k de la discothèque.
Nous avons plus que jamais besoin de l'audace, de l'intelligence et de l'esprit de Manc en ce moment. Cet album a ça à la pelle. Ryder et Kermit se sont associés au producteur Youth (Martin Glover) sur cet album, qui a déjà travaillé avec The Verve, U2, Primal Scream, Guns N' Roses, Pink Floyd et Depeche Mode pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns.
