Neil Young's "Official Release Series" captures the Canadian guitar legend's critical and commercial resurgence at the dawn of the 1990s, a period that saw him hailed as "The Godfather of Grunge" amid the rise of the Seattle music scene. This collection features 1989's "Freedom," a powerful statement of artistic rebirth, and 1990's "Ragged Glory," a raw, high-energy collaboration with Crazy Horse recorded at Young's Broken Arrow Ranch in Northern California. "Ragged Glory" is expanded with four rare tracks: the B-sides "Interstate" and "Don't Spook The Horse," plus previously unreleased versions of "Box Car" and a 12-minute "Born To Run." The set includes 1991's "Weld," a landmark live album with Crazy Horse that showcases Young's unrelenting creative force, and its experimental companion "Arc," a 35-minute collage of feedback, improvisation, and vocal fragments—presented here in its first vinyl release.
