On February 16th, earMUSIC will release the 1977 album 'Malice In Wonderland' by Paice Ashton Lord as a reissue. Paice Ashton Lord had a brief but spectacular moment in the history of rock 'n' roll. There was a great buzz in the music press when drummer Ian Paice and organist Jon Lord formed a new band after the unpleasant dissolution of Deep Purple. Tony Ashton was at the top of Jon Lord's wishlist, as they had previously collaborated on joint projects, and he became the singer, pianist, and frontman of the band. They placed ads in the music press, held auditions, and ultimately completed the band with Bernie Marsden (guitar) and Paul Martinez (bass), along with additional background singers and a brass section. After an album release, a botched TV appearance, a tour, and a never-completed second album, the story of PAL ended in 1978. Marsden, Lord, and eventually Paice joined Whitesnake, and Paice Ashton Lord disappeared into history. A story that is worth celebrating once again. 'Malice In Wonderland' is the band's only album. Influenced by the earlier collaboration of Jon Lord and Tony Ashton, it offers a fusion of rock with big band swing, blues, and funk. But if there's one thing PAL didn't want to be, it's music that was laid-back, and they didn't do that. 'Malice In Wonderland' offers driving feel-good rock at its finest. 'PAL attempted to do something that was ahead of its time, similar to what Level 42 did later, a crossover between jazz and rock.' (Ian Paice) This reissue includes 8 newly remastered tracks from the long-lost second album. Furthermore, the artwork includes previously unreleased photos by Alan Messer as well as detailed liner notes about the history of PAL, written by Simon Robinson.

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
