CLASSIC BROADCAST FROM THE COMEBACK 1994 TOUR In 1993, four years since his previous album, 1989 s World In Motion, Jackson Browne returned with I'm Alive, a critically acclaimed record with a more personal style than most of his 1980s fare, which had often featured politically charged tracks. The album did not have any successful singles (the title track reached 18 on the Billboard s Album Rock Track chart) but still sold respectably, and Sky Blue and Black was used during the pilot episode of the situation comedy Friends. Browne performed three major tours in 1994 in support of the album: he performed in the US and Japan in February and March, in the UK and Europe in June, and he came back to the US for further dates between July and September. His band for all these tours featured Marc Goldenberg (guitars, vocals), Kevin McCormick (bass), Mauricio "Fritz" Lewak (drums), Luis Conte (percussion, vocals), Jeffrey Young (keyboards, vocals), Scott Thurston (keyboards, vocals, guitar) and Vonda Shepherd and Valerie Carter (backing vocals). On 24th March 94 Jackson and band played at the 2,500 seat Silva Hall in the Hult Centre for the Performing Arts, a purpose-built concert venue in Oregon s second city, Eugene, in the northwest of the United States. A dazzling show was performed featuring a superb selection from Browne s extraordinary catalogue, including four cuts from the current album. The show was broadcast across FM radio and is presented here in perfect audio quality, which also provides evidence of just how good the Hult Centre s acoustics are, something that comes over clearly in this recording. Presented on CD for the first time, this marvellous concert is a fine example of where Jackson Browne was in early 1994, an era when most enthusiasts were agreed the man was back doing what he has always done best.

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
