Spiritus Mortis - The Year Is One

Finland’s most ancient purveyors of Doom Metal, Spiritus Mortis, return with their fourth album, The Year Is One. Seven years in the making, this release is a deep dive into occult fantasies, delivering a sound that is as heavy and evil as pure old school heavy metal allows. The album masterfully blends the band’s roots in Dio-era Sabbath with a heavy-handed, yet melodic vigor.

Featuring ex-Reverend Bizarre vocalist Albert Witchfinder, The Year Is One explores themes of black magic and necrophilia, presented with a newfound joy of expression by Witchfinder, who delivers tales of demon summoning and corpse violation with an evil genius.
