Description
The Bristolian is a solo album by Bristol-based musician Davey Woodward, blending electronic sounds with guitar, bass, strings, trumpets, drums and vocals. Its atmospheric music moves between melancholy and dance-oriented passages, with spoken word adding another dimension.
Woodward combines electronic soundtracks he had recorded over decades with real instruments and vocals. The album brings together carefully developed arrangements and spontaneous moments.
Recorded and produced by Jim Barr and Davey Woodward in Bristol in 2025, the album centres on Woodward’s town, its places and relationships, while leaving room for listeners to connect its stories with their own.
