Editors - Surface, Echo & Sound [audioCD]

Editors return with their highly anticipated 8th studio album, Surface, Echo & Sound, marking a significant shift back toward a more natural, collaborative recording approach reminiscent of their earliest days. Following the electronic direction of 2022’s EBM, the band regrouped in the summer of 2025 to create this new collection of Alternative Rock material.

Frontman Tom Smith embraced a stripped-back, acoustic-based method for developing the new tracks, bringing fully formed songs to the band to work through together in practice, seeking organic evolution. The recording sessions took place in Gloucestershire, described by Smith as a very productive summer environment.
