Description
Gyasi turns from high-voltage rock ’n’ roll to folk-blues on Songs From The Holler, drawing on the music he encountered growing up in West Virginia. It’s a heartfelt choice for listeners drawn to roots music, guitar-led performances and a mix of familiar classics, forgotten gems and original songs.
Recorded with just two microphones, the album reflects Gyasi’s connection to the music and the solitary mountain setting of his youth. His tasteful guitar work brings a vibrant, intimate feel to the songs.
Standouts include “Motherless Child”, “Man From The Mountain” and “Dance Of The Three Rivers”.
