Frontman Neil Hannon describes the album as an outlet for his more melancholic side, exploring themes of mortality, memory, relationships, and societal change. This deluxe 2CD edition features the standard 11-track album in gatefold packaging, plus a bonus disc titled 'Live in Paris & London', capturing intimate live performances that complement the studio recordings.
