Description
Q Theory’s Quantum Leap Vol. 2 is a CD for listeners drawn to adventurous jazz fusion. The album opens with “Rocinha”, a composition blending jazz, Caribbean, Brazilian, African and American sounds.
Inspired by the spirit of Brazil’s Rocinha favela, John Coltrane’s harmonies and Herbie Hancock’s improvisation, the track opens the way into “Rara Jazz”. The album is also inspired by the late Quincy Jones.
Wyclef Jean contributes guitars, Fender Rhodes, bass, synthesizers and drum programming. The musicians also include Robert Glasper on piano, Patrick Pelissier on keyboards and Fender Rhodes, Emmanuel Laine on drums, Emanuel Najee on bass, Godwin Louis on saxophone, and vocalists Kayla Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter and Lynette Rhett.
