Description
David Gilmour’s Luck and Strange is a black vinyl album of new material, his first in nine years. The one-disc release comes in a gatefold cover with a booklet featuring photographs and artwork by Anton Corbijn.
Recorded in Brighton and London, the album was produced by David Gilmour and Charlie Andrew, with lyrics mostly written by Polly Samson. It includes a reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers’ ‘Between Two Points’, featuring Romany Gilmour on vocals and harp, and the title track features Richard Wright, recorded during a ‘Barn Jam’ in 2007.
The cover image was photographed and designed by Anton Corbijn, inspired by lyrics Charlie Gilmour wrote for ‘Scattered’, the album’s final song. Romany Gilmour also performs backing vocals across the album.
