Formed in 1967 amidst the unique atmosphere of a divided Berlin, Agitation Free became a crucible for musical innovation, embodying 'movement, unrest, and change.' They were instrumental in the development of the 'Berlin School' of electronic music, with early collaborations at the Electronic Beat Studio influencing contemporaries like Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel. The band served as a vital platform for talents such as Christopher 'Chris' Franke and Axel 'Ax' Genrich.

While their studio albums 'Malesch' (1972) and '2nd' (1973) are considered genre milestones, Agitation Free truly came alive on stage. Their concerts were immersive, avant-garde events, blending liquid light shows and experimental films with hypnotic, extended instrumental improvisations.
