Yoko Ono - It's Alright (I See Rainbows) [CD]

Experience Yoko Ono's seminal 1982 album, "It's Alright (I See Rainbows)," now reissued on expanded CD. This landmark recording, influenced by both 1960s girl group vocals and 1980s synthesizer experimentation, offers a unique blend of "adventurous… lush… committed and convincing avant-gardism," as noted by Rolling Stone. The album navigates themes of grief and uplift, reflecting Ono's personal journey as an artist and mother. Tracks like "Loneliness" and "Spec of Dust" give way to the optimistic sounds of "Let the Tears Dry" and the title track, "It's Alright."

Reflecting on the album in 1983, Ono described it as a diary of her emotions, sharing a universal connection with listeners. The title track's inspiration is deeply personal, stemming from a moment of awakening prompted by her son, Sean Lennon, encouraging her to "Wake up and dream love, and let the tears dry and I see rainbows." Sean Lennon himself, speaking in 2025, highlighted his mother's ability to transform negative energy into creative output, a testament to her enduring artistic spirit.

This expanded CD reissue brings Ono's deeply personal and creatively charged work to a new generation, celebrating its enduring relevance over forty years later.
