Description
It Is Finished is Nina Simone’s 1974 album, presented on Sunhat Yellow coloured vinyl. It’s a blend of live and studio performances, with cover versions that showcase Simone’s powerful interpretations.
The album marked the end of an era: Simone’s militant activism had largely concluded, it was her final album for RCA, and she moved from the US to Barbados. Standout performances include Tina Turner’s ‘Funkier Than A Mosquito’s Tweeter’, ‘Mr Bojangles’, Steppenwolf’s ‘The Pusher’ and the 1930s blues classic ‘I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl’. The Sunhat Yellow pressing matches Nina’s hat on the sleeve.
