In My Darkest Hour: A Memoir

From Dave Mustaine, the legendary leader of the iconic heavy metal band, Megadeth. This powerful memoir offers a raw and unflinching reflection on confronting mortality and the harsh truths that emerge from life's darkest moments.

Dave Mustaine has navigated a life marked by significant challenges, including addiction and personal struggles. In 2019, he faced his most daunting battle yet: a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma at the back of his tongue, threatening his voice, his musical career, and potentially his life.

A Fight for Survival and Art:

This book chronicles Mustaine's journey through treatment and into the recording studio. Discover how his diagnosis fueled his creative drive, leading to Megadeth's sixteenth studio album, "The Sick, The Dying . . . and the Dead!" Experience his resilience as he moves from radiation and chemotherapy appointments to intense, hours-long recording sessions.

Personal Growth and Faith:

Mustaine shares how confronting his own mortality brought him closer to his family, taught him the importance of asking for help, strengthened his faith, and challenged the vulnerability inherent in his art. This is a portrait of a Dave Mustaine the world has yet to fully see, filled with perseverance, hope, and an unwavering determination.
