Description
Gugaruz is a new album shaped by Faust drummer Werner “Zappi” Diermaier, with collaborators Dirk Dresselhaus and Elke Drapatz. It is for listeners drawn to spontaneous, exploratory music that blends percussion, electronics, guitar and found sounds.
Diermaier’s intuitive rhythms anchor a collaborative work created through improvisation and shared musical exploration. The album moves between driving psychedelic passages and more spacious, atmospheric textures.
Standout tracks include the hypnotic, expansive “Big Field”, the distorted, syncopated “Saurer Regen” and “Schleuse”, which turns recordings of railings and a harbour into music.
