Description
Ken Boothe’s 1979 album Got To Get Away Showcase returns on 180g red vinyl. It pairs his soulful roots vocals with extended rhythms, making it a release for reggae collectors and Ken Boothe fans.
Created with Phil Pratt and deejay Jah Walton, the album reflects the late-seventies move towards extended mixes that segue into deejay performances and dub. Jah Walton provides DJ versions of the vocal cuts, alongside dub versions by The Revolutionaries.
Known as Jamaica’s “Mr Rock Steady”, Ken Boothe is celebrated for his distinctive voice and his place in Jamaican music. This reissue presents a showcase-style album of vocals, DJ versions and heavyweight dub.
