What is the difference between brushing and deShedding?
Brushing removes knots and dirt from the top coat. DeShedding removes loose, dead undercoat without damaging the coat (when used properly). A FURminator deShedding tool removes significantly more loose hair.
Why is deshedding important?
When the hairs sprouting from hair follicles stop growing, they shed to make room for new hair growth. Loose hair, if not regularly removed, can accumulate moisture, gathering dust, dirt, mud, etc. and lead to matts.
