Dogra Magra [Blu-ray]

Experience the final feature film from visionary director Toshio Matsumoto (Funeral Parade of Roses) with this stunning Blu-ray presentation of Dogra Magra. Based on the celebrated novel by Kyusaku Yumeno, this period-set gothic tale blurs the lines between reality and fantasy as a man awakens in an asylum with no memory of his past, including the alleged murder of his bride.

Follow the patient's fragmented memories as they become intertwined with two doctors, Dr. Wakabayashi and Dr. Masaki, and the mysterious manuscript, Dogra Magra. This phantasmagoria, shot by Tatsuo Suzuki (Pastoral: To Die in the Country), evokes the dreamy dread of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Cure and the locked-room mystery of Shutter Island. This release marks the first time Dogra Magra is presented on Blu-ray outside of Japan.
