Description
Angel's Egg is the second album in Gong’s Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy, following the continuing adventures of Zero the Hero and the Pot Head Pixies. This one-disc LP reissue features a reproduction of the original gatefold sleeve.
Originally released in 1973, the album blends psychedelic rock, progressive experimentation, jazz improvisation and anarchic humour. Remastered from the original BYG Records tapes and cut at half-speed at Stardelta Studios, it explores Gong’s surreal cosmic mythology through hypnotic grooves, synthesizers, guitars, saxophone and eccentric vocals.
Standout songs include “Other Side Of The Sky”, “Oily Way”, “Flute Salad” and “You Can’t Kill Me”. The reissue also includes a 16-page booklet reproducing Daevid Allen’s guide to the characters, stories and mythology of the Radio Gnome Invisible saga.
