About the Album:
Unified Field is a CD release from Emperor X, the musical project of Chad R. Matheny. Matheny has been crafting eccentric, lyrically-dense underground pop music since 1998. After pursuing studies in physics, philosophy, and music composition, he dedicated the past two decades to creating music globally, performing in diverse venues from symphony halls to underground bars across Ukraine. He often tours solo with a guitar and synth, and has shared stages with notable artists such as Ratboys, The Hotelier, and Xiu Xiu.
Emperor X's influence extends beyond his own releases; he produced Brian Sella's album 'Well I Mean' and co-produced Oxford Collapse's Sub Pop album 'Bits'. His ambient work, 'Keeling Curve', was featured in a multimedia installation by photographer Joel Sternfeld, exhibited at Museum Folkwang.
