Second studio album by the American singer-songwriter Carole King, a landmark in pop music history. King wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, showcasing her exceptional songwriting talent. Several tracks were already hits for other artists, including Aretha Franklin's '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman' and The Shirelles' 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow'. Three songs were co-written with her former husband, Gerry Goffin. James Taylor, who played guitar on the album and encouraged King to perform her own material, later had a number one hit with 'You've Got a Friend' from this same album.
