Collection of three films starring Matthew McConaughey. In 'Killer Joe' (2011), drug dealer Chris Smith (Emile Hirsch) and his father (Thomas Haden Church) hire contract killer Joe Cooper (McConaughey), a Dallas detective who moonshines as a hitman, to bump off Chris's mother in the hope of getting their hands on her substantial life insurance policy. In lieu of the upfront fee they owe Killer Joe, the men offer the services of Chris's nubile younger sister, Dottie (Juno Temple), as a 'retainer' until they get the money. Depraved acts of sex, greed and violence ensue as everyone proceeds to double-cross and backstab each other to within an inch of their lives. In 'Mud' (2012), Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and Neckbone (Jacob Lofland) take to exploring the banks of the Mississippi where they find a boat nestled in a tree. As they begin making plans to use the boat, they quickly realise that someone is living in it and it isn't long before they're introduced to its owner, Mud (McConaughey). A relationship forms between the three and Mud promises to let the boys have the vessel if they continue bringing him food and help him reunite with his lost love, Juniper (Witherspoon). However, when they agree to help, they soon realise that Mud is a wanted man and that a gang of bounty hunters are in hot pursuit... Finally, in the award-winning film 'Dallas Buyers Club' (2013), rodeo cowboy and homophobic redneck Ron Woodroof (McConaughey)'s life is transformed drastically when a work-related accident results in him being diagnosed with AIDS. Given a life-expectancy of 30 days by his doctors, Ron initially continues his life in a state of denial but as the clock keeps ticking he becomes more and more interested in the background of the disease and its treatments. Learning that FDA-unapproved drugs are freely available over the border in Mexico, he takes matters into his own hands and begins transporting them into the United States. As word gets out about Ron's new venture, he is introduced to the local homosexual community and together with his new transgendered friend Rayon (Jared Leto) he establishes the 'Dallas Buyers Club' which offers treatments to those in need. However, with the success of his business comes the attention of the FDA and local drug enforcement and he is soon engaged in a battle with the authorities who want to shut down the club. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards and won three, including Best Actor (McConaughey) and Best Supporting Actor (Leto).

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
