Meet Sam. A spy for hire. A ruthless operative. A determined hunter. And herself hunted by an hidden enemy more brutal and dogged than any she's ever known. Sam has been running from her past her entire life. But when she returns to her job at Byzantium following a near fatal attempt on her life, she will discover the only way to escape that past... is to confront it. Trapped in an intricate web of suspense and paranoia, Sam must discover who wants her dead at the same time as completing her mission for Byzantium before it is too late. At first, it seemed that Hunted was being positioned as a natural successor to the now-finished Spooks. After all, not only does it come from the same producers, but it’s also focusing on a spy fighting against insurmountable odds. In this case, the spy is played by Melissa George, working for a private security firm, who is being hunted down. By who? Good question, and it’s one that the show has a lot of fun with. At times, you’ll do well to keep up with it. Hunted does have its problems, though. It relies on a few leaps of faith from the audience, some of the dialogue doesn’t quite gel, and it doesn’t feel massively distinct from the many shows that have covered similar ground. Furthermore, it juggles an assortment of narrative strands, not always convincingly so. And yet it’s really, really good fun. The pace is spot-on, the performances are good, and while Hunted doesn’t bear too much close inspection, it’s very entertaining. The eight episodes here are action-packed and interesting for the most part. It’s just the kind of series, in fact, that could comfortably fill up a windy weekend. The DVD release doesn’t have too much else over and above the episodes themselves, yet there’s still plenty for your money here. Warts and all, Hunted is certainly worth a spin. --Jon Foster

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
